Page views, post views, reels, all share one pool
Free Facebook view credits work on Page videos, post videos, and reels. Each needs the right permalink; the pool itself is shared across asset types.
Picking the right URL
For a feed video, click the timestamp and copy the URL that opens. For a reel, use the reel link. For a story-style clip, use that specific URL while the clip is still live.
Audience restricted posts
Facebook can restrict a post by location, age, or audience list. If your post is filtered, views from outside that audience are filtered too. Open the post in a logged-out window to check whether it loads at all.
Reels and stories
Stories expire in twenty four hours; if you spend a credit on a story URL after it has expired, the credit cannot land. Reels do not expire, so they are easier targets for free credits.
Bigger view targets
For a campaign launch or anything tied to a paid ad set, the paid Facebook views catalog handles larger volumes in fewer submissions.
Free Facebook Views FAQ
Does Facebook count the same view twice if a user opens the video again?
Facebook counts a view at three seconds of playback per session per account. The worker plays each cohort session for the threshold and exits, so each account adds exactly one view. Re opens by the same account on the same day are deduplicated by Facebook.
Reels, regular video, or live? Which surface does this target?
Pre recorded Reels and uploaded videos are both supported on the free track. Live broadcasts route through a different counter Meta keeps live, and the worker does not subscribe to live streams.
Will the watch time graph in Insights look natural?
We pace the cohort over the queue window rather than dropping all sessions in one minute. The watch time band in Page Insights stays consistent with the previous day rather than spiking and falling back.
How does the free batch differ from paid Facebook views?
Volume and pacing. Free is a small sample paced over the full window; paid lines run higher counts per minute, hit specified retention curves (3 seconds, 10 seconds, full), and offer scheduling so a run finishes before a campaign window closes.
