What each Twitter stat actually means

Impressions count every time a tweet was shown on a screen, including timeline scroll-bys. Detail clicks count the times someone tapped to expand the tweet. Profile clicks count the times someone tapped your handle to open your profile. Hashtag clicks count taps on the hashtags inside the tweet. Poll votes record cast votes on the poll attached to a tweet. Each stat is purchased per target URL, so you choose which signal you want to grow on which tweet.

When to grow which stat

Grow impressions on a launch tweet to extend the reach surface and boost For You ranking. Grow profile clicks under a tweet that pitches your account so the natural follow rate from that tweet improves. Grow detail clicks when you want to surface a long thread (people who expand a tweet are far more likely to read the rest of the thread). Use poll votes when you need a poll to look credible at the start so real users feel comfortable picking a side.

What we cannot do

Stats only land on public tweets posted by public profiles. If your account is set to Protected, the stat orders will not deliver. Switch the account to public, place the order, and you can re-enable Protected once the order is complete if you prefer.
